Insight
Insight
Samba is an open-source implementation of the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol and the related Common Internet File System (CIFS) protocol, which allow PC-compatible machines to share files, printers, and various information. The following packages have been upgraded to a later upstream version: samba (4.6.2). (BZ#1391954) Security Fix(es): * A flaw was found in the way Samba handled dangling symlinks. An authenticated malicious Samba client could use this flaw to cause the smbd daemon to enter an infinite loop and use an excessive amount of CPU and memory. (CVE-2017-9461) Additional Changes: For detailed information on changes in this release, see the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 Release Notes linked from the References section.
