Published: 2017-01-30 12:00:00
CVE Author: NIST National Vulnerability Database (NVD)

CVSS Base Vector:
AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P

Summary:
This host is installed with CloudBees Jenkins and is prone to a remote code execution vulnerability.

Detection Method:
Checks if a vulnerable version is present on the target host.

Technical Details:
The flaw is due to an Jenkins allowing to transfer a serialized Java object to the Jenkins CLI, making Jenkins connect to an attacker-controlled LDAP server, which in turn can send a serialized payload leading to code execution, bypassing existing protection mechanisms.

Impact:
Successfully exploiting this issue allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed exploits will result in denial-of-service conditions.

Affected Versions:
CloudBees Jenkins LTS 2.19.2 and prior, Jenkins 2.31 and prior.

Recommendations:
Upgrade to CloudBees Jenkins to 2.32 or later / Jenkins LTS to 2.19.3 or later.
