Microsoft Outlook Express and Windows Mail Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (978542)

This host is missing a critical security update according to Microsoft Bulletin MS10-030.

The issue is due to an integer overflow while processing responses received from a POP3 or IMAP server. This can be exploited by an attackers to crash an affected client or potentially execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into connecting to a malicious POP3 or IMAP server via a specially crafted STAT response.
