Summary

Junos OS is prone to a mbuf leak vulnerability.

Insight

Insight

A Junos device with VPLS routing-instances configured on one or more interfaces may be susceptible to an mbuf leak when source and destination MAC addresses of Ethernet frames with the EtherType field of IPv6 are flooded into the VPLS instance. The Ethernet frames must be injected directly into a connected interface, limiting exposure to directly connected adjacent networks.

Affected Software

Affected Software

Junos OS 13.3 and 14.1

Detection Method

Detection Method

Checks if a vulnerable OS build is present on the target host.

Solution

Solution
